2018 is an election year for the branch and elections will be held in November. According to NAACP guidelines, any member intending to run for an elected position within the branch must be in good standing no later than April 1st of the year in which the election is held. Chapel Hill Carrboro NAACP is pleased to announce that Mrs. Lillie Lee Perry will be our 2018 Mother of the Year! Lillie Lee Perry, the second of six children born to the late Robert Lee and Susie Burnett Perry on July 15,1940. She is a native of Chapel Hill, NC and has lived in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro area all of her life. A 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School, she also graduated from Durham Technical Institute of Practical Nursing in 1960. Immediately after graduating, she was employed at North Carolina Memorial Hospital until retiring in 1996. It requires mortgage lenders to give information to HUD that can be analyzed to find patterns of discrimination. Without this data, it is virtually impossible to prove that housing discrimination is occurring.
