ANNUAL FREEDOM FUND BANQUET

ANNUAL FREEDOM FUND BANQUET

The Annual Freedom Fund Banquet is the branch's primary fundraiser. Proceeds support the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, the National, State organization’s and local branch programming, outreach and activism. In addition, the branch awards scholarships to deserving high school students. In 2018 five scholarships were awarded to local high school students who will be attending universities including UNC Chapel Hill, Howard University, and NC A&T.

The 2018 Freedom Fund Banquet keynote speaker was Anita Earls, civil rights attorney, founding Executive Director of the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, and candidate for a seat on the North Carolina State Supreme Court.

To assist with planning for the 2019 banquet please contact Anna Richards, president5689@gmail.com to be added to the banquet planning committee.
