Facebook protest gets results

July 9, 2019

A few months ago, the NAACP and our supporters came together for the #LogOutFacebook campaign, a protest to call out the social media giant’s negligence that allowed Russian operatives to use its platforms to spread propaganda to suppress the Black vote in 2016.

Good news: Our strong protest and sustained pressure since has forced Facebook to do the right thing.

This week, the company announced that it is forming an internal civil rights task force that will focus on its content policies and issues around privacy and elections.

Facebook’s new task force is a direct result of supporters like you taking action—and it’s further proof that #WhenWeFightWeWin.
