The Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP Education Committee held its fourth annual Black Excellence Program on Tuesday, May 13th in collaboration with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Equity and Student Leadership Department.

African-American students in the 10th to 12th grades who had a 3.0 GPA or above were recognized, which meant honoring 104 students in the program this year.

During the celebration, which was held at Carrboro High School, 38 students were recognized in person. Each student had their name announced and were presented a certificate and a poem holder, as well as other tokens for their achievements.
