Here are a few recent updates on some new COVID-19 relief for businesses from the Town of Carrboro. If you have any questions, you can email town Economic Development Director Jon Hartman-Brown or send a note to our branch's Economic Development Committee. SBA Provides New COVID-19 Grant Opportunities for Restaurants and Venues The SBA has announced two new programs this month that will provide funds to specific businesses affected by COVID-19 and (best of all) do not have to be repaid.
The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant is available to live performing arts organization operators, museum operators, zoos and aquariums, motion picture theaters, talent representatives, and live venue operators or promoters and can be used for payroll, rent, utilities, mortgage payments, debt payments, administrative costs, insurance payments, and advertising.
The Restaurant Revitalization Fund will be available to restaurants, food trucks, caterers, bars, bakeries, brewpub and tasting rooms, breweries, wineries, and inns with onsite food and beverage to the public. These funds can be used for payroll, mortgage, rent, debt service, utility payments, maintenance expenses, outdoor seating construction, supplies, food and beverage expenses, and business operating expenses. This program is not yet accepting applications, but if you are interested take a few minutes to review the program requirements and sign up for email notifications. The SBA will be prioritizing women, veteran, or socially and economically disadvantaged businesses first. For assistance with either of these funding opportunities, please contact the SBTDC-UNC Office at 919-962-0389.
