Town of Carrboro Seeks to Diversify Advisory Boards

The Carrboro Town Council is making it a priority to put Black/African-American voices on all advisory boards and commissions that address aspects of Carrboro’s quality of life.

On Sept. 1, 2020, the Council made it a Town priority to not make any appointments to advisory boards until there is an applicant pool with Black and African American community members.

The Town currently has vacancies on the following:

  *   Appearance Commission

  *   Arts Committee

  *   Board of Adjustment

  *   Economic Sustainability Commission

  *   Environmental Advisory Board

  *   Greenways Commission

  *   Recreation and Parks Commission

  *   Stormwater Advisory Board
