Youth Council participates in Week of Action

Writer: Chapel Hill Carrboro NAACPChapel Hill Carrboro NAACP

On Tuesday, Oct. 19, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP Youth Council participated in a National Week of Action Against School Pushout.

This year’s theme, Community Not Cops, features seven demands and embraces the reality that student safety begins with a foundation of culturally responsive, caring adults in schools who can meet students’ needs, work with students to prevent, process and respond to conflicts while fostering positive learning environments.

Local youth from Chapel Hill and Carrboro partnered with students from Chicago Public schools for a virtual restorative justice justice circle. Here's a look at our youth in action.
