The Chapel Hill Carrboro NAACP Annual Freedom Fund Banquet will take place on April 28, 2018. The event is the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP ‘s primary fundraiser. Proceeds support the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, the National, State organization’s and local branch programming, outreach and activism. In addition, the branch awards scholarships to deserving high school students. This year five scholarships will be made available.
The 2018 Freedom Fund Banquet keynote speaker will be Anita Earls, civil rights attorney, founding Executive Director of the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, and candidate for a seat on the North Carolina State Supreme Court.
Tickets for the 2018 Freedom Fund Banquet will be $50 for adults and $25 for youth. Forward Together Tables (8 seats with signage) can be purchased for $600. Sponsorship packages and ads are also available by contacting Tim Longest at tlongest@live.unc.edu.
